The Unity Cancer Center gives patients the opportunity to participate in national studies and access to new research treatments before they are widely available. These treatments may help improve quality of life and even lead to a cure.
Clinical trials are research studies designed to test new drugs, medical devices, diagnostic tools or methods of prevention. Clinical trials may also test new uses for existing drugs or dosage and delivery alternatives.
A clinical trial is an experiment. Its purpose is to determine safety and effectiveness. If a trial is successful, FDA approval follows, making the new drug or tool available, offering hope and help to countless others.
Through us, clinical trials that are usually accessible only in larger cities are available locally. This saves our patients the expense of travel and disruption of an extended stay.
